Dear CEE Graduate Students:
I want to personally welcome all of the new incoming graduate students to the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Arizona State University. I also want to welcome back all the current graduate students. I wish all of you the best in the upcoming semester. All new graduate students are encouraged to find a time to come meet with me in my office sometime during their first semester. We can go over and questions that you may have about the graduate program, ASU, and any other questions that you may have. I also encourage current students to make a point to try to see me at least once a semester so we can talk about your progress in the program.
My primary goal is to assist our students to ensure that each one achieves academic success. This means that I want you to graduate! I work closely with the Graduate College to make sure that I am aware of the latest policies and procedures that effect graduate students. I can also help point you in the right direction to important resources that will help you have the best possible experience at ASU. I frequently update my students through e-mail about various meetings, job opportunities, events, and other activities. Be sure that you have an active ASU account that you check frequently and that you periodically check to ensure that it is not full.
We have a very unique student population with students who are from around the world and represent over 20 different countries! I encourage you all to get involved and make the most out of your graduate school experience here at ASU. Throughout the school year I plan to provide you and keep you informed with opportunities that will facilitate positive interactions with your peers and assist you in reaching your academic attainments. Please frequent the CEE website often for updates on events and activities. I look forward to working with you this semester!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Moore
